You can’t wear white pants after Labor Day! That is what I heard every September growing up. And every September, I would put away my white garments, knowing that
I wouldn’t be able to take them out again until Easter.
Even though the “no white after Labor Day” way of thinking is of old school mentality to most, for some reason I always feel like I’m breaking a rule if I wear white pants between the months of September and March.
White pants make you think of sunny days with nice weather, however, if you live in a colder climate like I do, white pants tend to get pushed to the back of your closet during the winter months. We lean more towards warmer tones and darker colors to go with out knitted scarfs, boots and hot cocoa. But don’t fret, I have five ways that you can style your bright white pants so they they fit right in with your winter wear.
5 ways to wear white pants in the winter
- Throw on a pair of over the knee or riding boots with your white pants.
- Wear them with a bulky sweater or turtle neck.
- Pair white pants with dark and/or neutral colors.
- Wear them with a faux fur jacket or vest.
- Style them with a heavy poncho or shawl.
Do you wear white pants during winter? If so, do you feel like you’re breaking some unwritten rule? Let me know in the comments.
