My husband and I love to go out dancing. Chicago Style Steppin’, which can be described as “urban ball room dancing” is something that we love to do on a weekly basis. With Chicago Style Steppin’, dressing your best is a part of the culture, and although the dance is elegant, it can also be looked at as sort of a sport. So even though I’m in heels and a dress, I like to be comfortable.
I recently celebrated my one year wedding anniversary. In celebration of the special occasion, my
husband wanted to throw a party. Because we would not only be attending the party, but also hosting, I knew that I would be not only working, but doing plenty of dancing. Therefore, I wanted to be comfortable. So the hunt was on for a dress that would allow me to be cute and comfy.
I spotted this black tunic dress by City Chic at Macy’s. I originally thought it was a jumper, but when I discovered it was a dress, I thought, “can I pull this off at my anniversary party?” The beauty of this dress is that it can go from casual to dressy chic in a matter of minutes.
This pleated, black tunic dress has a front zipper, so you can easily slip in and out of it without messing up your fabulous hair-do. The slightly gathered material doubles as invisible side pockets, and that makes this dress so much fun.
Paired with my black chunky heels, and a statement necklace, I was ready to party. These black Mary Jane pumps are the perfect shoes if you know that you will be on your feet for a while. The chunky heel and platform will make you forget that you are wearing heels. They are also available in wide width. For a more casual look, this dress could easily be worn with a pair of flat sandals on a nice sunny day.
I pranced around in this dress all night. Chic and comfy go so well together.
