When Summer arrives it’s only natural to want to wear less of everything- including makeup. I don’t know about you, but if I’m in the heat for any amount of time, I begin to perspire (that’s my lady like way of saying “I sweat”).
So what to do? Skip the makeup? Ummm, I don’t think so! My Summer makeup routine allows me to still get the coverage I need, without putting on a full face of makeup.
It’s always important to use a primer prior to applying any foundation. I like the POREfessional face primer by Benefit. This matte primer controls shine throughout the day, minimizes pores, and helps your foundation stay in place all day.
Radiant Creamy Concealer by NARS is lightweight but offers plenty of coverage for the most stubborn blemishes.
Build A Foundation
For my foundation I use Velvet Matte Skin Tint by NARS. Don’t let the term “skin tint” fool you, this product will give you the look and coverage you need, with the feel of a moisturizer. The coverage is buildable, and it also has an SPF of 30.
Lately I having been loving Sephora’s MicroSmooth Baked Foundation Face Powder. I apply this powder over my foundation for a flawless finish.
For my eyes, I keep it simple. I add a little black liner in my waterline, fill in my brows and apply mascara to my natural lashes.
To finish the look, I apply a little blush to my cheek bones, and for a golden summer glow, I highlight with Mac’s Mineralize Skin Finish in Gold Deposit. I then apply my favorite lip gloss, and viola!
