I have never been a morning person, and for as long as I can remember I have always had to come up with clever ways to cut my getting ready time in half just so I can hit the snooze button a few times before I eject myself out of bed.
Over the years I have added to, and taken away from my everyday makeup routine. One routine contained powder and eyeliner only, and another consisted of applying makeup in the car on the way to work.
After years of trial and error, I finally have a 10 minute makeup routine that gets me out of the door quickly. When you think about it, all you really need is a smooth, even toned face, and eyes that pop.
The first step in my 10 minute makeup routine is to even out my skin tone. To do this, I start with Radiant Creamy Concealer by Nars, in the color Amande. I use this under the eye area and on any dark spots that I have on my skin that may not be covered by my foundation.
Next I apply my foundation using my beauty blender or my fingers, depending on how I feel that day. I use Make Up Forever’s Mat Velvet foundation in the color 75-Coffee. This foundation gives me the matte finish I love, and it controls oil throughout the day.
I set my foundation with Mac’s Mineralize Skin Finish in Dark.
Lastly, I apply a little blush to the ball of my checks.
On to the Eyes
Now lets move on to the eye area. I begin by filling in my brows with Mac’s Veluxe Brow Liner in Deep Brunette.
Next I apply black eyeliner to my waterline, and I finish the look off with mascara. If you are feeling adventurous, and you have time, go ahead and add liquid or gel liner along your upper lash line, for a little drama.
