Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in a fashion rut and you’re wearing the same type of clothing all of the time? Sometimes I find myself reaching for the same black skinny jeans over and over. Even when I’m shopping, I end up at the check out counter with items similar to what I already have.
When I saw these Ponte Knit Stevie Pants from Old Navy, I stared at them for a while. Yes, the printed pants were really cute, but I thought, “I can’t get those, what would I wear with them?” I picked them up and held them out in front of me to stare at them, then I put them back. I continued through the store to look at other items, but those red and black checkered pants stayed on my mind. “If they don’t work out, no big deal”, I thought, “It wouldn’t be the first time I purchased an item that didn’t see the light of day”.
Luckily, I got my printed pants home and loved them. I decided to keep it simple by pairing them with this black pleated sleeve tunic from Eloquii.
Have you been shying away from print pattern pants? If so, here are a few ideas for styling printed pants.
- If wearing leggings, try them with an over sized sweater
- For a more structured look, add a blazer
- Pair them with a leather jacket and a white tee
- Wear your printed pants with a a denim shirt
- For really bold prints, wear with a a neutral colored top.
What style of clothing have you been too shy to wear? Let me know in the comments.
