Keep towels accessible in a small bathroom
Separate clean reserves from towels that need space to dry after use.

Small-bathroom towel storage has two distinct jobs: keeping clean towels available and giving used towels a place to dry. A tightly filled basket may do the first, but it does not do the second. Decide where each function belongs before using every spare corner for folded linen.
Look at the towel people reach for most often. Place that supply where it can be accessed without stepping into the bath or leaning over the toilet. A shallow shelf or a small cupboard section may hold enough for the bathroom's everyday use. Larger reserves can live outside the room if indoor storage is limited.
Match the fold to the space
Measure the shelf depth and try folding a towel to fit it before buying storage. Rolled towels are not automatically more space-efficient; their usefulness depends on the container and whether removing one disturbs the rest. Upright folded towels can make a deep basket easier to browse, while a short stack may be simplest on an open shelf.
Keep the number on display manageable. A tower of towels that falls when the top one is removed is inconvenient regardless of how neatly it begins. If different people have assigned colours, keep those groups recognisable rather than blending them into a decorative gradient.
Leave room for towels in use
Check the available rail or hooks with the actual towels hanging from them. A rail covered by overlapping layers may not offer the drying space you expected. Use the bathroom's ventilation as intended and allow towels to dry before placing them with clean stored items. Follow the maker's care label for washing rather than assuming all decorative finishes tolerate the same treatment.
Over-door storage can be useful, but test door clearance and the product's suitability before relying on it. Avoid positions where towels trail into the sink, obstruct a heater or make the door difficult to close. The best arrangement is one that remains easy when someone is in a hurry: a clean towel within reach, a clear place for the used one and no need to unpack a crowded cupboard each time.
